Why do people like to start drama with others?

I was leaving out of a store yesterday when a guy pushed through me and said " You betta watch where the **** you going *****!" I just responded by saying "whatever." He was the one who pushed through me. I didn't want to get into a physical altercation with this guy and he pulls a gun and shoots me. So tell me...Why do people like to start drama?
